Etihad Airways and Air Europa are poised to enhance their strategic partnership, aiming to provide travelers with improved connectivity and services. This collaboration will see Etihad increase its flight frequency to Air Europa’s hub in Madrid to twice daily starting in summer 2025, facilitating seamless travel between Abu Dhabi and Spain.
The partnership is designed to strengthen connections between Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia, creating more travel options for passengers.
Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer of Etihad Airways, emphasized the discussions surrounding the expansion of their codeshare and frequent flyer programs, which will allow both airlines to explore new markets. Additionally, there is potential for a wet lease operation involving an Air Europa aircraft on the Madrid-Abu Dhabi route.
Richard Clark, General Manager of Air Europa, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating that it will enhance their reach to the Middle East and Asia, thereby opening more opportunities for passengers to connect between the Americas and Europe while maintaining high service standards.
This expanded collaboration builds on the existing partnership between the two airlines, which already includes bilateral codesharing and reciprocal frequent flyer benefits, further solidifying Air Europa’s presence in the Middle East and Asia through Etihad’s Abu Dhabi hub.
