Etihad Airways has officially opened its new U.S. Preclearance Lounge at Zayed International Airport, enhancing the travel experience for passengers flying to the United States. The lounge, which opened on December 30, 2024, is strategically located just steps away from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Preclearance facility, allowing eligible guests to relax after completing their U.S. entry formalities before boarding their flights.
The lounge is designed to provide a serene environment, featuring a refined selection of beverages and light dining options, which complements Etihad's premium travel experience. Notably, select flights offer the convenience of direct boarding from the lounge, further streamlining the travel process for guests.
John Wright, Chief Operations & Guest Officer at Etihad Airways, emphasized that this new lounge represents a significant milestone in the airline's commitment to delivering exceptional experiences for its guests. He noted that Zayed International Airport is the only hub in the Middle East to offer this time-saving U.S. Preclearance service.
Access to the U.S. Preclearance Lounge is available for travelers flying in The Residence, First or Business Class, as well as for Platinum and Emerald members of the Etihad Guest program. Additionally, access can be purchased at the lounge, subject to availability.
Etihad Airways currently operates nonstop flights to four U.S. destinations: Boston, Chicago, New York, and Washington D.C. The airline is set to expand its services with the launch of flights to Atlanta in July 2025, further solidifying its presence in the North American market.
