
Oman Air has achieved a remarkable milestone by recording its highest ever seat occupancy, reaching an impressive total load factor of 88% in January 2025. This achievement highlights the airline's effective utilization of its capacity, as it filled a significant percentage of available seats with passengers.
Among the 41 destinations served by Oman Air, several routes reported load factors as high as 95%. This performance surpasses the global average load factor of 83.5% for 2024, as reported by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Additionally, the airline noted a strong occupancy rate of 77% for its Business Class seats.
Con Korfiatis, the Chief Executive Officer of Oman Air, expressed pride in this record load factor, attributing it to the strength of the airline's network and the successful implementation of recent business changes.
Looking ahead to the summer season, Korfiatis indicated a positive booking momentum and emphasized the airline's commitment to sustaining growth through exceptional service and expanded travel options.
Oman Air has been undergoing a significant transformation since 2023, to achieve financial breakeven within three years while contributing positively to Oman's socio-economic objectives.
The airline's performance highlights for 2024 reflect substantial progress, driven by a comprehensive network study, a focus on profitable routes, and a fleet modernization program that introduces more efficient aircraft while phasing out older models.
