Ooredoo Qatar, part of the Ooredoo Group, and Qatar Airways have announced a strategic collaboration aimed at enhancing Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud, and Cybersecurity capabilities within Qatar. This partnership builds on 15 years of joint innovation and seeks to accelerate digital transformation on both national and regional scales.
The recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will focus on establishing a national AI hub that offers cutting-edge infrastructure, advanced technological tools, and strong data security frameworks. By aligning with Qatar’s long-term vision for technological leadership and economic diversification, the collaboration sets the stage for a future driven by intelligent AI technologies.
A significant element of this partnership is the emphasis on developing local talent through specialized training and upskilling programs. These initiatives aim to cultivate the next generation of professionals in AI, Cloud, and Cybersecurity, supporting sustainable development and strengthening Qatar’s status as a leader in technological innovation.
Highlighting its commitment, Ooredoo implemented an advanced NVIDIA GPU platform in July 2025, designed to provide high-performance processing power for businesses, governmental bodies, and developers, thereby accelerating innovation and efficiency.
HE Sheikh Ali bin Jabor Al-Thani, CEO of Ooredoo, expressed enthusiasm about harnessing AI’s transformative potential to enhance human capabilities and position Qatar as a global AI trailblazer. Meanwhile, Qatar Airways Group CEO, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al Meer, emphasized the airline’s extensive use of AI across operations and its ambition to lead as a national AI champion, elevating customer experiences and operational efficiency.
Combining Ooredoo’s AI infrastructure with Qatar Airways’ operational expertise, the partnership aims to drive innovation across the telecommunications and aviation sectors, reinforcing Qatar’s commitment to building a knowledge-based, technology-driven economy and maintaining its leadership in regional digital innovation.
